Municipal Offices Set to Open to Public Eff. June 1st

Seal 450 x 450

Recently the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued the following directive:

“Fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal or territorial laws, rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.

In general, people are considered fully vaccinated:

  • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.

If you don’t meet these requirements, regardless of your age, you are NOT fully vaccinated. Keep taking all precautions until you are fully vaccinated.”

In addition, the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) has issued this directive:

“People who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear a face covering when indicated in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance for fully vaccinated people.

In light of these announcements and the fact that many opportunities are available for persons to receive the vaccine, effective June 1, 2021 the following adjustments will occur regarding existing City COVID-19 restrictions:

1. All municipal buildings will be open to the public. The Municipal Building will be open from 7:30 – 4:00, Monday through Friday, except for holidays.

2. All plexiglass shields will remain in place until further notice.

3. The City will adhere to the masking and distancing policies of the CDC and PA DOH. This will apply to employees and visitors.

4. The restriction on indoor capacity, including meeting and conference rooms in all City buildings will be removed, under order from Governor Wolf.

Your cooperation as we have dealt with the pandemic and the related restrictions has been greatly appreciated. These latest adjustments reflect that great strides have been made against this disease and we are getting closer to normalcy in our lives, at home and in the workplace.
