CITY OF HERMITAGE APPOINTS NEW CHIEF OF POLICE
(City of Hermitage, Mercer County, PA) - City Manager Gary Hinkson announced today that Adam J. Piccirillo has been appointed Chief of Police of the Hermitage Police Department, effective December 10, 2022. Piccirillo has served in the Department for 14 years as a police officer, and, for the last 9½ years as Deputy Chief of Operations. His duties as Deputy Chief involved managing general department operations, scheduling and supervising the patrol operations, developing and implementing training programs, developing operational plans for major community and other large-scale events, and assuming command of the department in absence of the Chief of Police.
Piccirillo has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice at Slippery Rock University. He is a graduate of the Mercyhurst Municipal Police Training Academy and has an extensive and diversified list of police training credits and certifications. He is a 2018 graduate of the FBI National Academy, 274th Session, at Quantico, Virginia. He has also served in various offices, including President, of the Mercer County Chiefs of Police Association.
