State Grants Will Address Infrastructure and Construct Playground The Hermitage Municipal Authority received state grants totaling $1.4 million for the S. Neshannock Road Sewer Extension Project. The project will extend sanitary sewer service along portions of S. Neshannock, Virginia and Miller Roads connecting 93 homes and businesses to the system. It will also facilitate residential development on vacant parcels along the corridor. The project is expected to begin later this year. A $177,327 state grant will help construct a new playground, rubber surface and benches at the Rodney White Olympic Park adjacent to the Hermitage Municipal Building. The existing playground is over 25 years old and needs replaced. The project should be completed later this year. Senator Michele Brooks and Representative Parke Wentling were instrumental in securing both sets of grants.

City of Hermitage Athletic Complex: A Recreational Oasis for All Introducing this month's hidden gem, the City of Hermitage Athletic Complex! This recreational haven is meticulously crafted to offer residents a diverse range of sports and leisure activities, featuring sports fields, trails, parking areas, and more to meet the community's recreational desires. In a significant stride towards improvement, the Board of Commissioners greenlit a new master site plan in the summer of 2023. This visionary plan encompasses the addition of more trailheads, connecting existing trails, and introducing new recreational spaces. Thanks to a generous state grant received last year, the complex saw the successful construction of a state-of-the-art dek hockey rink. This noteworthy project is community-driven, dedicated to elevating our recreational complex and fostering increased physical activity opportunities for both youth and adults. For the most up-to-date and accurate information on the City of Hermitage Athletic Complex, including its current facilities, ongoing projects, and recent developments, visit www.hermitage.net
