John Moroco Appointed Hermitage Commissioner to Fill Vacancy: A New Chapter Begins

On January 25th, the Hermitage Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to appoint John Moroco as a Hermitage Commissioner filing the vacancy created by the resignation of William G. McConnell, Jr. Mr. McConnell resigned in early January to accept the position of Mercer County Solicitor. Mr. Moroco was immediately sworn in to fill the balance of the two-year term. Jingle in the Hood

Hidden Gem: The Eagle Point Jingle Crew

On December 22nd, the third annual "Jingle in the Hood" event illuminated the Eagle Point Development in Hermitage with festive cheer. Spearheaded by the Eagle Point Jingle Crew, a close-knit group of friends, this heartwarming tradition saw participants donning Christmas attire as they joyfully paraded through the neighborhood streets, accompanied by merry music and the cheerful jingle of bells.

Originally conceived in the wake of the Covid pandemic, the event aimed to uplift spirits during a challenging time, bringing a sense of joy and community to residents. This year, the crew decided to extend their reach beyond their immediate community by organizing a food collection, amplifying their impact and spreading joy to others in need.

Their efforts were met with overwhelming generosity from neighbors, resulting in a remarkable donation of 293 pounds of food and pet supplies. This heartfelt contribution was distributed to the Mercer County Food Bank and the SV Animal Shelter, touching the lives of both humans and animals in the community.

In reflecting on the success of this initiative, the Eagle Point Jingle Crew expresses deep gratitude to their neighbors for their kindness and generosity. Together, they achieved something truly meaningful, reaffirming the spirit of giving and community that defines the holiday season. With the resounding success of this year's event, the crew eagerly anticipates the opportunity to continue and expand this cherished tradition in the years to come, spreading joy and goodwill throughout the community.
