First Tee Grand Re-opening

Buhl Park Celebrates Grand Reopening of Renovated First Tee Building

Congratulations to Buhl Park on the grand reopening of their newly renovated First Tee Building, located next to Dum Dum Golf Course. The expanded facility now features multiple golf simulators to help improve your golf game and a new line of merchandise.

Buhl Park boasts the nation’s only free 9-hole golf course, with over 14,000 rounds played by the public last year. Additionally, golf carts are available for a fee, and a driving range is accessible for a nominal charge. The area surrounding the golf course also includes a bicycle pump track and pickleball courts.

Aiken Refuse

Beginning August 1, 2024, Aiken Refuse will replace Tri-County Industries as Hermitage residents' garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection service under a new 5-year contract. The quarterly fee will be $80.70 for the first three years and $83.70 for the last two, with new black carts (with color-coded lids) delivered in July and used from August onward. Hermitage Façade Improvement Program Open for Applications

The Hermitage Façade Improvement Program is accepting applications until August 30th. The program offers up to $5,000 in reimbursement grants on a dollar-for-dollar match basis for eligible exterior projects, excluding landscaping, paving, sidewalks, and outbuildings. Businesses along State Street and Route 18 within specified boundaries are eligible.

Funding is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, with $5,600 in grant funds currently available. Applications and information can be found https://www.hermitage.net/DocumentCenter/Index/221

Welcome to the City of Hermitage's Night Market!

Join us for a fun and family-friendly night out at our monthly Night Market, featuring nearly 70 local vendors, including growers, artists, culinary and beverage vendors! 

The markets are held on Thursday evenings from July through October.

 

Each market will offer live musical performances starting at 6 PM, making it an enjoyable evening for all ages. The market is located in front of the Armory and the City of Hermitage Municipal Offices.

City Garage Electronics Recycling Program: Covered Devices and E-Waste Collection

Covered Devices, including monitors, peripherals, desktop and laptop computers, and televisions, can be recycled at the City Garage on Virginia Road. Collection occurs year-round on the first and third Friday, 7 a.m. to Noon, excluding shutdown days. Schedule drop-offs by calling City Garage at (724) 342-0210 and purchasing a $20 tag per electronic item

Tire & Household Appliance Recycling 
 
Hermitage residents can dispose of old tires and household appliances at the City Garage on Virginia Road, with a limit of four tires per visit and no cost involved. Proof of residency is necessary, and residents must call ahead to arrange drop-off. Accepted items include tires (without rims or dirt inside), all household appliances. Appliances containing Freon must have doors disabled, freon removed and properly tagged by a certified technician. Contact the Hermitage Municipal Building for more details at 724-981-0800.

Monthly H2R (Hard-to-Recycle) events are held at various participating locations around Mercer and Lawrence County. These recycling events are free to residents. 

Collection days are held on the second Tuesday of each month from 9am – 1pm.
