Highlights from the Second Annual Corn Roast and September Night Market This year's September Night Market featured our second annual corn roast, made possible by the generous donation of corn from Lengel Brothers Farms. All proceeds from the event went directly to support the Stull Nature Reserve, and we are thrilled to announce that, thanks to your enthusiastic participation, we raised over $800! If you missed out on grabbing one of our exclusive ‘Shuck Yeah’ Corn Roast t-shirts, you can still purchase one for $20 at the City of Hermitage Municipal Offices. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the success of this event. Your support not only makes our events special but also helps us continue to enhance and protect our community’s natural treasures.

Pedestrian Improvement Project in Hermitage to Begin Soon A $1.6 million project aimed at extending sidewalks and improving pedestrian access in the City of Hermitage, Mercer County, is set to begin next month. The project will involve installing new concrete sidewalks along State Street (Route 3008), stretching from the intersection with Buhl Boulevard to the intersection with Route 18. Additional improvements will include updated signage and new pavement markings. Work is tentatively scheduled to start near Buhl Boulevard on September 16, 2024, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed by July 2025. During this time, motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers, and should remain alert for traffic pattern changes and delays during active work hours. Access to all driveways will be maintained throughout the project, though drivers should be aware of temporary traffic control devices near driveways. M&B Services of Clarion, PA, has been awarded the $1,651,114.71 contract for the project, which is fully funded by federal dollars.
