Quick Response Saves Life at Buhl Park On the morning of March 19, 2025, the Hermitage Fire Department responded to a vehicle submerged in Lake Julia at Buhl Park, with reports of at least one person trapped inside. Three Hermitage Firefighters jumped into the 40 degree water, broke a window, and pulled the occupant from the submerged vehicle. Sharon Fire Department and Sharpsville Volunteer Fire Department were quickly dispatched to assist. In less than 10 minutes from the original call, Hermitage firefighters successfully rescued one individual and transferred care to McGonigle Ambulance Service. We commend the bravery and quick actions of all responding agencies in ensuring the victim’s safety.
