[ARCHIVED] Public Notice - SVACB seeking shelter Manager

Welcome to the City of Hermitage

This position reports directly to the Board and is responsible for the general operations of the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, the direction and coordination of employees and volunteers engaged in the care, treatment and placement of animals housed at the shelter and oversees the enforcement of dog laws in the six member communities – Hermitage, Sharon, Farrell, Sharpsville, West Middlesex and Wheatland. The successful candidate will have a passion for the safety and health of animals, some animal care experience, a knowledge of the best practices in the care and treatment of shelter animals, excellent communication skills including customer service, strong administrative skills including the ability to supervise employees, develop budgets and policies and the ability to work with volunteer groups, government entities and the general public. The Shelter Manager is required to be a certified veterinary technician, have an associate’s degree or 1 to 3 years animal care experience or a combination of education and experience. The qualified candidate must pass drug screening, physical examination and criminal history check.
