Effective at noon, Friday, March 20, 2020, all City of Hermitage buildings will be closed to the public. Buildings include the Municipal Building (except for City public meetings), all Fire Stations, the City Garage/Street Department, Water Pollution Control plant and the Training & Workforce Development Building at LindenPointe. The Hermitage Athletic Complex, Rodney White Olympic Park, LindenPointe walking trails and Whispering Pines Park remain open. All departments are conducting business and the public can communicate with employees via telephone, fax and email. Applications for permits can be downloaded from the City website at www.hermitage.net. Completed applications and associated fees can be submitted through the library book drop box located on the north wall of the Municipal Building. All tax payments and other payments can be placed in the secure drop box located along the north end of the Municipal Building parking lot.
These previously reported adjustments to operations remain in effect:
- The recycling programs for tires and electronics at the Street Department/City Garage are suspended until further notice.
- Fire Department inspections of occupied rental properties has been suspended until further notice.
- Police Department issuance of transient business licenses is suspended until further notice.
- Meetings, both inside and outside of the Municipal Building, with non-City personnel are being postponed until a later date.
These temporary actions may change as circumstances change. Directives from the federal and state governments may cause further adjustments to our operations in the future. We encourage the public to adhere to social distancing practices that have been implemented by public health authorities.
