[ARCHIVED] Media Release - Effective June 8, 2020 the City of Hermitage will implement the following

City buildings (Municipal Building, Street Department/City Garage, WPC/Food Waste to Energy Department, eCenter @ LindenPointe, Training & Workforce Development Building) will be open to the public with restrictions:

Entry will be only by previous appointment. We will continue to emphasize communicating by phone and/or email but if an in-person meeting is necessary it will be done by appointment only.

For the Municipal Building, the employee will meet the appointment at the exterior lobby door and conduct the meeting in a lobby conference room.

Any member of the public entering a City building will wear a mask while in the building and any employee meeting with the public in a City building will wear a mask during the meeting. Cloth face coverings are not required on children under 2 years of age and anyone who has trouble breathing.

Social distancing will continue to be emphasized.

Hand sanitizer stands will be available for use by the public.

All park restrooms (Rodney White Olympic Park, Hermitage Athletic Complex, Whispering Pines Park, LindenPointe) will be open for regular hours. They will be cleaned and disinfected daily. Signs will be posted on the outside of doors emphasizing social distancing and hand washing.

The Hermitage Athletic Complex and Rodney White Olympic Park fields will be open for activities in compliance with guidelines issued by the Governor’s Office and the PA Department of Health. More specific information is available through the Parks & Recreation Department.

Fire Department inspection of occupied residential rental units will resume. Fire Department inspectors will wear masks and protective gloves when inspecting occupied buildings.

The issuance of transient business licenses for fixed locations will resume. The issuance of transient business licenses for door-to-door solicitation remains suspended until further notice. Those licenses that are issued will contain a notice that social distancing is required and employees having in-person contact with the public must wear a mask.

Until further notice, the following remain unchanged, subject to continual review. 

The electronics recycling program at the City Garage remains suspended.

The Municipal Building meeting and conference rooms remain closed for non-City business meetings, events or activities.
