[ARCHIVED] Media Release- Director of Planning Retires

Seal 450 x 450

The City of Hermitage announced today that Jeremy Coxe will be promoted to the position of Director of Planning & Development, effective later this year, upon the retirement of the current Director, Marcia Hirschmann. Mrs. Hirschmann has announced her intention to retire after 43 years of service to the City, 28 as Director of Planning & Development Department. She previously served for 12 years as Engineering Supervisor. Mr. Coxe has been employed by Hermitage for 14 years, with the last 8 years as Assistant Director of Planning & Development. He is a graduate of Slippery Rock University.

City Manager Gary Hinkson said, “Marcia will be greatly missed as a fellow employee and for her immense contributions to our City. She has been a driving force for quality development and long-range planning during her career in Hermitage.” Also, “while following in Marcia’s footsteps will not be easy, we believe Jeremy has the skill set and the experience and will be able to utilize his own talents to be an outstanding department director.

Those personnel moves will create a vacant Assistant Director of Planning & Development position, which the City will move to fill by beginning a search immediately.
