The City of Hermitage COVID‐19 Disaster CDBG‐CV Small Business Grant Program 

The City of Hermitage is providing a grant opportunity to small businesses from funds provided by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (the CARES Act”). The grant program is intended to assist small business in the City of Hermitage who have experienced disruption due to the COVID‐19 crisis. The CDBG‐CV (Community Development Block Grant) funded grant program was developed in accordance with state and federal regulations to support small businesses and to avoid job loss caused by business restrictions and closures due to the COVID‐19 pandemic and to enable the creation / retention of jobs held by low‐moderate income (LMI) persons. 

The City will begin accepting online applications on Monday, November 23, 2020 from qualified small businesses located in the City of Hermitage for a one-time grant up to $5,000. Qualified small business must complete an online application, provide a description of how the business experienced disruption due to the COVID-19 Crisis, document that without the assistance the LMI (Low-Moderate Income) job(s) will not be created or retained, and document how the grant funds will be used to prevent, prepare for and respond to the impacts of the coronavirus. Eligible applications will be processed on a first come, first serve basis. 

The City of Hermitage COVID‐19 Disaster CDBG‐CV Small Business Grant Program is funded in the amount of $193,732 through the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) CDBG-CV program and the city and the applicants must provide evidence of employee LMI verification on forms acceptable to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations.
