The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce Shop Shenango Valley Day Saturday, Dec. 5 sponsored by the City of Hermitage which encourages shoppers to come out and support local retail in the Shenango Valley and will culminate in Holiday Fireworks at 6 PM over Avenue of the 444 Flags.
“We want to support our business community,” said Gary Hinkson, Manager of the City of Hermitage. “We hope this encourages people to come out and shop, enjoy the fireworks and then get dinner locally and drive through Buhl Park to enjoy the holiday lights.”
Holiday entertainment include Kraynak’s ChristmasLane, 2525 E. State St., Hermitage, open 9 AM – 9 PM; a wide variety of sales and specials at the Shenango Valley area shops and restaurants; Drive-thru Holiday Lights Display in Buhl Park starting at 5 PM – plus a special Holiday Fireworks display held at 6 PM. The location of the fireworks will be over the Avenue of 444 Flags/America’s Cemetery (2619 E. State St.). The fireworks, provided by Pyrotecnico, can be observed from anywhere along the E. State St. corridor. Hermitage officials encourage people to watch them safely socially distanced in their vehicles.
“The City of Hermitage contacted the chamber with this great idea that can tout the Hermitage and Shenango Valley business community especially during this challenging time,” said Sherris Moreira, Executive Director of the Shenango Valley Chamber. “This is such a great idea to help support our local businesses for the holidays. And visitors can also sign up to win prizes in many of our shops too!”
The Shenango Valley Shop Around is a holiday giveaway event that has the Shenango Valley business community to providing giveaways – including gift cards, gift baskets, etc – in their place of business through Dec. 23. The community-wide holiday gift giveaway is already at $3500 worth of prizes and growing. Some of the prizes include a $500 Business Stationary Package at Minuteman Press in Hermitage; $100 gift card to Buhl Mansion in Sharon; A foursome with golf cart at Tam O’Shanter in Hermitage (valued at $165); four local retail gift cards at Waterstone Mortgage, Hermitage and three $100 gift cards at Reyers Shoe Store in Sharon.
