It will begin at the intersection of State Street and Kerrwood Drive and the participants will stage in and around the Hermitage Towne Plaza site. For the ease of set up - it is strongly recommended that all floats be constructed at this site. Flatbeds can be ordered through the transportation committee, (724) 981-0800, and can be delivered one day before the parade. Regardless, all large floats shall be at their designated staging area no later than 4:00 p.m. and all participants shall be at their designated staging area no later than 5:30 p.m. Participant staging locations and

contestant identification numbers will be provided to your parade representative(s) at the mandatory parade staging meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 5:15 PM at the Hermitage Municipal Building, Room #303, 800 North Hermitage Road, Hermitage.

If you request a flatbed from the parade committee and a representative of your organization does not attend the parade staging meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 16, 2021, your flatbed reservation will be cancelled.

Parade directors will be available to assist all participants in lining up. The parade route will start at North Kerrwood Drive and the corner of East State Street and proceed east, turn left at the traffic light at the Route 18/North Hermitage Road intersection, and end at the Shenango Valley Mall drive intersection. At this point participants will either: 1.) proceed north on Route 18, turn right into the south high school drive and terminate in the rear parking lot; or 2.) proceed north on Route 18 to an alternate remote location.

It is essential that the responsible contact persons for each parade entry communicate these instructions to their group/participants, and in particular to the parents of young children.

THROWING CANDY IS PROHIBITED!!! Due to the large number of vehicles, and in particular the tractor-trailer units, throwing candy may be hazardous to the spectators. IN ORDER TO AVERT AN ACCIDENT WE ARE REQUIRING EVERYONE DISTRIBUTING CANDY TO WALK ALONG THE CURB LINE AND HAND IT OUT. Additionally, all advertising/promotional materials must be accompanied by a treat. No confetti, litter, etc. may be thrown.

4.

All parade participants must have lights and a holiday theme (it is not mandatory for marching bands to have lights). We respectfully ask that no one incorporate Santa into their display, since he will be the main attraction in the parade.

All parade entries may not exceed 13' in height from the ground up.

6.

If a flatbed truck is used, at least two representatives must accompany it by walking on each side of the float.

The City of Hermitage will post the parade event on Facebook. We encourage everyone participating in the parade to share and post within this event, but we ask that participants please do not recreate our event on Facebook.

If you request a flatbed from the parade committee and later decide that you have to cancel your participation, please notify the committee by November 16, 2021! By not contacting the parade committee, you create numerous hardships and problems for the trucking companies, the parade committee, and other participants!
