Treasurer

Duties & Responsibilities

The City Treasurer is the tax collector for the City of Hermitage, has charge of all City monies from all sources, deposits the monies in such depositories as are designated by the Board of Commissioners, and performs duties as directed by the Board of Commissioners.


Requirements

The Treasurer is elected at large by the voters of the City for a term of four years, must be a registered voter of the City, bondable by such amount as determined by the Board of Commissioners, and is compensated as fixed by the Board of Commissioners.

Business License Tax Forms (PDF) must be filed by April 15


Business License Tax

Business License Tax Is due by April 15. If this tax is not paid by April 15 a $25 penalty is assessed. 

Drop Off Box

The City has installed a drop off box on the north end of the parking lot. Payments for sewer, real estate taxes and wage tax payments to Berkheimer can be deposited in the box. Payment deadlines will remain the same.

Credit Card & Online Payments

The City of Hermitage Treasury Department does not accept credit card payments at the counter or online.

Payments may be made by:

  • Check – mailed or placed in the drop box outside the City of Hermitage Municipal Offices.
  • Cash or Check – in person at the Treasury counter.

Important: Do not place cash in the drop box. Cash payments left in the drop box cannot be processed.

Per Capita Tax

Per Capita Tax bills are mailed August 1. The Per Capita Tax is a flat rate local tax payable by all adult residents living within a taxing jurisdiction. This tax is due yearly and is based solely on residency, it is not dependent upon employment or property ownership. Original Bills

When paying your taxes, please ensure you have the original bill with the barcode available. If you are unable to provide the original bill and require a duplicate, we offer a reprint service for a fee of $10.00 to cover our administrative costs. Please note that bills are sent exclusively to the owner of record and not to servicing agencies
