§101. Registration of Rental Properties and Tenants.
- Owners of rental properties are required to file a rental property and tenant report for all rental properties located within the City of Hermitage. The property owner must supply the addresses of all rental properties or units and the names of all persons occupying such units or properties.
- The City will advise all such property owners of their duty to register their rental properties and tenants. The City will supply such forms as it prepares for this purpose. All property owners shall file a rental property and tenant report, annually, and will notify the City of any change in occupancy within 30 days of the change.
- Any owner of rental property who fails, neglects or refuses to register his/her property, or refuses to identify his/her tenants or refuses to notify the City of any change in occupancy within the prescribed time limit, or any person who refuses to permit the City or any agent designated by the City to examine his/her books, records and papers and any person who knowingly makes any incomplete, false or fraudulent report shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $5 nor more than $600 plus costs and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 30 days.
